Half Columns, Split Columns, Column Covers
Column Covers also called column surrounds or column wraps are
essentially a whole column split in half for reassembly around a structural
support. Similarly, Half Columns are full columns split in half for use as Half
Columns or Pilasters. All of our columns: Fiberglass, Polymer Stone,
Polyurethane, and Wood, can be split and used to surround lolly columns, wood
posts, etc. or be used as Half Columns or Pilasters. Our Polyurethane Columns
(picture below) are the most accomodating because the columns are actually
manufactured in 2 halves and then assembled into full columns so if a customer
needs a split column or half columns, we simply do not assemble the column: Each
half comes with an interlocking edge which allows for easy reassembly around any
support. The Cap and Base are then split using regular wood working tools and
assembled around the column shaft. Since our
Polyurethane
columns come primed with 2 layers of high quality primer, after some touch-ups
to the seam, the column is ready for final paint finish. All of the other column
types do not come with the interlocking edge but are frequently used as Column
Covers.

The Column Cover or Column Surround or Column Wrap pictured below is
a Polyurethane Square Column. As mentioned previously, this type of Column is
available in all of our column materials: Fiberglass, Polyurethane, Polymer
Stone, and Wood. When requested, we will split our columns only into 2 equal
halves for use around structural members or as half columns except for our
fiberglass column line (see fiberglass plan types at bottom of page) Click the

The Half Column or Pilaster pictured below is from our Polymer
Stone Column line; however, as mentioned previously, all of our column types
(Polymer Stone, Fiberglass, Polyurethane, and Wood) can be provided as half
columns. Click on the following link to be redirected to our Column page:

Our Fiberglass Columns can be provided in all of the Plan Types
pictured below. Click the following link to be redirected to the fiberglass
